From Sheep to Skein…
Mile High Merino is a collaboration between High Steaks Farming (the farmers) and 24 Mile Hollow Yarn Co (the knitter, indie dyer and designer) producing ethically grown, single flock, superfine merino yarn.
Once shorn, skirted, classed and baled, our 17 micron wool makes it’s way to Victoria for scouring and milling into roving and yarn.
Our yarn is hand dyed in the Blue Mountains using low impact, acid dyes and the immersion and steaming methods. The depth and shade of colour varies across the skein, making each one unique.
