Statement

We are ordinary farmers who are passionate about animal welfare, the environment and good food; and reject the assertion championed by the proponents of modern agriculture, that these are, at best, orthogonal, and at worst, mutually exclusive.

To this effect, we state the following ansatz:

Q_f = W_a + H_e  + F,

where,

Q_f is is food quality, W_a is animal welfare, H_e is the health of the environment and F is a function incorporating all other factors involved in meat production. Here we propose the hypothesis:

W_a >> F, and, H_e >> F,

that is, the effects of animal welfare and environmental health on meat quality far outweigh all other factors.
The primary goal of our farm is to demonstrate this relationship.
